I need to play for a big European club, says Adil Rami

The 27-year-old is determined to become a permanent fixture in the France side, but acknowledges he needs to play for one of Europe's elite sides to achieve that goal
Valencia defender Adil Rami says he "needs to play for a big club in Europe" as rumors continue to link him with a move away from his current employer.

The 27-year-old is determined to become a permanent fixture in the France side ahead of World Cup 2014, with reports linking the center back with a move to Anzhi Makhachkala.

But though he has denied any interest in a move to the big-spending Russians, Rami admits he is considering his future with los Che.

"I'm not going to Anzhi Makhachkalaeven though I had a good proposition from this team. I have not had my last word on the France team and I will consider this factor when choosingmy futureEngland? Maybe. I need to be at a big club in Europe," he told La Parisien.

Competition for places in the national side is high, with the likes of Rami, Philippe Mexes, Raphael Varane and Mamadou Sakho all vying for a starting berth.

Rami has made 25 appearances for France and scored once for the national side. He moved to Valencia from Lille in 2011 for approximately 6 million euros.
