Roma defender Marcos Marquinhos is being targeted by Barcelona as a potential heir to Carles Puyol.

The Blugrana captain has been plagued by injuries recently and being 34-years-old a replacement is high on Barca’s list.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona are ready to submit a bid of €25 million for the 18-year-old Brazilian defender.However, it is thought Manchester City and United are also competing for the youngster.
