Alves wary of 'formidable' Ibrahimovic
The Brazilian fullback fears the former Blaugrana forward could come back to haunt the club in the upcoming Champions League quarterfinals.
Dani Alves has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a "big worry" forBarcelona ahead of the Champions League quarterfinals. The Sweden striker has been cleared to play in both legs of the tie after successfully appealing his two-game ban following his red card against Valencia, and Alves has warned of the danger posed by his former teammate.
"Ibrahimovic is a big worry for us. He is a great player and a formidable athlete. I had the honor of being his teammate," Alves told RMC. "We have come up against each other before, and I will approach the game in the same way I did then."
The former Valencia defender, however, was keen to stress that PSG has many other talented and match-changing players in their ranks despite Ibrahimovic being the center of attention.
"We'll have to work very hard to make sure he doesn't score goals," Alves continued. "We know that he is a very important player that can score at any moment, but we also need to be wary of the other Paris Saint-Germain players."
Barcelona plays the first leg of their final-eight tie in Paris on April 2 before returning to Camp Nou for the second leg eight days later.
